What is EP? Ecclesia Plymouth. It sounds like a mediaeval textbook but it just means Plymouth Church (Ecclesia); and church really just means a group of people.
So EP is a group of people, starting from scratch, figuring out what it means that Jesus Christ really is God in 21st Century Plymouth. There is no building, no denomination, no uniform and no rules. Just some bibles, some food, some prayers, plenty of good coffee and a real desire to bless the City of Plymouth through a message that the world is pretty rubbish and only God can sort it out.
Come and join us for bible study and worship, followed by a shared lunch every Sunday morning at 1100 at our house.
Our hope is that EP will communicate the whole story about Jesus, through the way it lives, talks, submits and serves. We plan to assemble a people with good news that could just potentially change the City, the South West and the world. EP is aiming all this at the 97% of the population, who know little, or nothing about Jesus, and that means doing business differently. This is an ambitious target, involving a mission that includes blood, sweat and tears; but the rewards are eternal, if the bible is to be believed. Biblical Church is not soft and wishy-washy; it is called to be dangerous, subversive and strong.
We are a Crowded House Network, that shares a core set of values about the nature and mission of the local church as gospel community. We see church centred around the home with our energy and resources directed to the mission of making disciples not big meetings. To do this we are commited to shaping our lives around 6 key practices:
